HONDURAS MISSIONS TRIP

In March 2025, our youth ministry is sending a team to Honduras on a global missions trip. Read below to learn about what we will be doing and the ministry we are partnering with!

What Will Our Team Be Doing?

  • Evangelism in Public Schools: We have the opportunity to teach Bible classes and spend time with students throughout the day in elementary schools.
  • Erdo nutrition program – helping prepare and serve food for Kindergarten classes each morning
  • Water projects – installing water filters in homes + evangelism to those families (each filter costs $300 USD)
  • Youth ministry outreach on Friday Night

TWO WAYS YOU CAN PARTNER WITH US
Prayer: We welcome your prayers as we prepare our team to go and serve Schools of Hope. As a Church, we have financially supported this ministry for many years and are excited to go and show our support by serving hands-on. Please be praying for our team’s safety while in Honduras and for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus!

Financially: If you would like to partner with us financially, you can do so by visiting the link below and choosing “Youth Honduras Donations” from the dropdown menu. All donations will go directly to this trip and the ministry we will be doing through Schools of Hope.

WHO ARE WE WORKING WITH WHILE IN HONDURAS?

Schools of Hope: Kathy Mizen

Kathy Mizen is one of the missionaries we currently partner with at Calvary. Below is a blurb about Kathy from our Church website:

Kathy has had a passion for missions since she was a young girl and has been involved in several short-term mission trips. She has always known that she would be serving somewhere on the mission field with children. She served as a children’s pastor for 17 years in Southwestern Ontario before serving in Honduras.

Kathy went to Honduras in 2014 to work with Schools of Hope in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. While there God clearly spoke to Kathy that this was the city where He wanted her to serve. Kathy is excited to be working as the director of Schools of Hope. She oversees ChildCARE Plus sponsorships, ERDO Nutrition Program and Water Projects as well as other administrative duties. Schools of Hope ministers through evangelism within the public school system of Honduras to over 8,500 children sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.
